Why Ferrywell

What You Bring Away from Each Stage

Clarity Without Jargon

Each engagement is explained in plain English and Bahasa Malaysia before it begins. You know precisely what will happen, what you will receive, and what falls outside the scope of the work.

Documents in One Place

After file assembly, your paperwork is no longer spread across drawers, emails, and old envelopes. A single portable file with a contents page and a digital mirror copy makes everything locatable.

A Logged Correspondence Record

The retainer keeps a dated log of every item sent and received. When an institution asks when you wrote to them, the answer is already written down — with the reference number alongside it.

A Clean Handover

Every engagement ends with something tangible — a glossary, a file, or a bound pack. Nothing is left half-done. You leave with material you can hand directly to an adviser, family member, or legal professional.

No Unsolicited Opinions

Ferrywell does not interpret your figures, advise on fund choices, or suggest what you should do next. When professional advice is needed, the retainer handover pack includes a directory of registered practitioners in Sarawak and Sabah.

Your Documents Stay Yours

No originals are retained after an engagement closes. Scanned copies are stored only while the work is active. The drive containing your mirror file is handed back to you at the second appointment.

Common Questions

What to Expect at Each Stage

What exactly happens during a Statement Reading Session?

The ninety-minute session walks through the layout of a typical EPF or pension statement — how sections are arranged, what each column ordinarily records, and where contribution dates and reference numbers appear. You receive a printed annotated sample and a bilingual glossary. The session does not look at your personal figures or suggest any course of action.

Do I need to bring all my documents to the first appointment?

For the File Assembly service, it helps to bring whatever you currently have — even if the collection is incomplete. Part of the first appointment is producing a gap list that shows which years or employers appear to be missing. The second appointment four weeks later allows time to source any additional items you may locate at home or request from an institution directly.

Will Ferrywell contact institutions on my behalf?

No. Nothing is sent on your behalf and no representation is made to any institution. The coordinator logs what you send and receive, maintains the master register, and prepares the chronology — but all communication with institutions remains yours to initiate and conduct.

What is included in the retainer handover pack at the end of six months?

The bound pack contains the full master register with dates and reference numbers, the neutral chronology of correspondence, a summary of outstanding expected replies, and a directory of registered financial planners and legal practitioners across Sarawak and Sabah. It is designed to be handed directly to a licensed adviser or family member managing the next steps.

Can I start with the Statement Reading Session and return for File Assembly later?

Yes. Each service is a complete, standalone engagement. Many people start with the reading session to understand what they are looking at, then return for file assembly once they have located their documents. There is no obligation to continue to the next stage and no package pricing that requires you to take all three together.

Is this service suitable for someone managing records on behalf of a parent?

The services are commonly used by adult children who are helping an older parent bring their paperwork into order before meeting with an adviser or solicitor. The statement reading session can be attended by both the parent and the adult child. Please mention at the time of enquiry if a third party will be present, so the appointment can be arranged accordingly.

What are the fees and how is payment made?

The Statement Reading Session is RM 490, payable before the appointment. File Assembly is RM 1,780, with half payable at the first appointment and the remainder at the second. The six-month retainer is RM 4,150, invoiced monthly in six equal portions of RM 691.67. All fees are in Malaysian Ringgit and accepted by bank transfer or online banking.
